300 Embark On JLI’s Mission to Israel

Over 300 Jews from across the United States, Europe, South America and Australia are set to embark today on the JLI’s mission to Israel. Thirty Five Shluchim and members of their respective communities will join the largest Chabad contingents to the Eretz Yisroel for a trip of a lifetime.

Organized by JLI as a follow-up to their course held this past fall, “The Land and The Spirit” the mission will bring to life Jewish history, provide insight into the origins of the Talmud and Kabbalah and explore the important place Eretz Yisroel has always held in a Jew’s consciousness. “The Mission will feature more than ordinary tours” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky. “Throughout the mission, participants will partake in inspiring Torah study relating to the sites they visit”.

In addition to visiting and learning about Israel’s holy sites, scenic locations and archeological finds, participants of the mission will be privileged to meet and addressed by some of Israel’s important personalities including Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar, former Chief Rabbi Israel Maeir Lau, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the noted Natan Sharansky. They will hear about Chabad’s important role in Israeli life today from various Shluchim and representatives of Colel Chabad, and interact with Israeli soldiers on the front lines.

The Mission is directed by Rabbi Yoni Katz of JLI Central and coordinated in Israel by VIP Tours and will visit the length and breadth of the holy land including Yerushalayim, the majestic Golan Heights, mystical Tzfat, Tiveria, Chevron, the Dead Sea and Masada. Two concerts, a special Shabbos in Yerushalayim, and a Grand Banquet featuring keynote addresses by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky and Chief Rabbi Lau, will conclude the mission.
