Winery to Host Purim Party

CAMARILLO, CA — The Chabad Jewish Centers of Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura will hold the annual Purim Party at 6 p.m. Thurs., March 20 at Herzog Wine Cellars, 3201 Camino del Sol, Oxnard.

The event will include the reading of the Megillah, the ceremonial reading of the Book of Esther from a handwritten scroll.

Purim commemorates the ancient Jewish people’s victory over Haman and his plot to destroy them. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to dress in costume. There will be a masquerade contest for children.

Following the concert there will be a holiday dinner at the Tierra Sur restaurant at Herzog Wine Cellars. Space is limited.
