Yahser Koach to Rabbi Kotlarsky and his wonderful staff for starting to do projects for Anash as well as Shluchim.
just in time
May this help prevent any more tragedies due to desperation, depression and hopelessness etc.
ATTENTION
this is a notable step forward in addressing issues that unfortunately run rampant in our community.
one important point, however, that can not be stressed enough:
THE "COUNSELORS AND EXPERIENCED EDUCATORS" MUST KNOW WHEN THEY NEED TO HAND THE REIGNS OVER TO THE PROFESSIONALS!
many a time, well-meaning ppl think that they can handle/guide a child/adult when the reality is that a professional is needed!!!
additionally, a "drug and abuse seminar" should be a requirement especially when young, innocent teachers just rolling out of seminary or yeshiva are responsible for a class-full of children!
the drug and abuse seminar is actually a requirement for the ny state teaching license.
TO HANDLE CRISES EFFECTIVELY, PPL IN RESPONSIBLE POSITIONS MUST BE EDUCATED!
life experience is a plus- but education is a must!!!
In total Agreement
couldn’t agree more with the above mention comment teachers parents have to start being educated!!!
