MITZVAH: Let Us Not Forget One of Our Own

A Crown Heights resident of 20 years passed away this Motzei Shabbos. A Balas Tishuva, Liba Schwartz OBM had no family and was never married.

She was 81 years old, passing away just one day before her 82nd birthday on the 14th of Sivan.

Although she died alone, let us not forget her and come out to bid her farewell at 1:30pm when her Levaya is scheduled to pass by 770.

Liba was a beloved and devoted friend to many – young and old – whose Tehillim worked wonders and whose talks and articles enriched the lives of many.

Her fascinating story was written up in the N’Shei Chabad Newsletter many years ago, detailing her journey from the church to Crown Heights and miraculously recovering her eyesight after being blind.

She was also known as a relative of a great Chabad Chossid Reb Alter Simchovitz, her great uncle.
