Did you double check if you locked your car? It’s not a joke, people are tying doorhandles.
A Crown Heights resident caught a recidivist car thief at it again Tuesday morning, busting him red handed inside a car parked on Eastern Parkway.
Video from the resident shows as he records the man walking along the Eastern Parkway Service Lane, trying handles of cars as he walks by.
Tenacious, the resident waited until the man found he door of a white minivan left open, and got inside.
Camera still running, the resident confronted the man, who admitted that the had entered the car looking for change.
This thief has been caught before, and due to the present laws, continues to be let out onto the streets.
The best defense against such break-ins remains making sure that your car is locked, and that no key fobs remain inside the vehicle.
