Ahavas Chesed Blood Drive Sunday

A blood drive will take place today, Sunday, October 14 (28 Tishrei) from 2:00pm to 7:30pm at Ahavas Chesed, 271 Kingston Ave. [between Lincoln and St. Johns Pl.].Refreshments will be served. Please bring identification.

Warning: One must wait 56 days between blood donations.

    Where does the blood go? What are the halachik issues involved with causing oneself intentional harm without a sickness. I am assuming there is enough blood available as is and there is no sakana involved here.

    True. I used to be scared beepless to donate. Then when my family member needed blood once, I donated despite my fear. Once I realized that it’s not all that painful, I only fear the two seconds it takes to insert the needle and the rest is a breeze. I now donate regularly.
