Need a Shidduch? Devorah Benjamin Has an Idea!

On Yud daled Kislev a couple of years ago an idea was born: for a nominal fee of $100, Devorah Benjamin of KSCVK will take your name, the name of your child, friend or relative and daven at the Ohel for a shidduch. The money will go straight to KSCVK’s fund for Crown Heights Chassanim and Kallos.

The program began promptly and has already been met with beautiful success. It’s been so popular, that Devorah’s phone rings off the hook with more and more names submitted. In fact, the demand is so strong that hardly a day goes by when she is not asked multiple times about her next planned visit to the Ohel.

Lag Ba’omer is one of those auspicious times when one can ask for anything and “vert gehelfen” (is helped). With her financial obligations of post Shavuous weddings coming up, Devorah decided that on Lag B’omer (Motzei Shabbos) she will be going again to the Ohel to daven for a nominal fee of $100 per name, and the money will go straight to upcoming weddings.

Not only will she daven for you or your loved ones, you are helping in Hachnosas Kallah, a winning combination for sure.

To take part in this Mitzvah, please send an email to programs@kscvk.org or call 718.774.4578; please include the name of the one seeking the blessing, his/her mother’s name and payment information by Friday, the 16th of Iyar at 5:00pm.

May we be zocheh to the ultimate marriage of Hashem to us yidden with Moshiach now!

  • Mi participated in this last year

And BH I got engaged about 6 months later :) Thank you Devorah Benjamin

  • Not everyone HAS the extra money

While it is worth while not everyone has the $100. while people supposedly brag about the results in truth they are probably limited at best & another huge problem is the lack of effort on the part of the Shadchanim especially if you are 1. older 2. divorced & 3. not someone with a known name 4. not from money the attitude needs to change to Emes Hadavar regardless who you are & only fter a real success & a real effort Kesef Nosian not before

    • Tzedakah l'zechus ___: A well est'd. Torah tradition!

      B”H
Of course if someone cannot afford to give l’zechus that an individual get married, that doesn’t mean all is lost!

It is a long, long established Torah tradition to give extra tzedakah l’zechus something that you are wanting/needing very much.

At the same time, KSCVK has many, many chosunahs coming up, B”H, and there is a financial need. as it says in the article:
“Lag Ba’omer is one of those auspicious times when one can ask for anything and “vert gehelfen” (is helped).”

SO, Devorah B. is VOLUNTEERING her time to pray at the Ohel on Lag BaOmer. No one is meant to feel obligated to participate in the effort by contributing, if they feel they can’t.

At the same time, the donations go to a holy, holy mitzvah: simchas chossan vekallah.

Please do not despair. Do everything you CAN do (daven, network, segulahs, etc.). If this is something you CAN NOT do, it’s not a problem! You WILL find your zivug, pls. Hashem!

  • Suggestion

Give $100 (or some other amount of your choosing) to KSCVK, and go yourself to daven at the Ohel. Just my opinion, but why should we pay someone to daven for us when we can do it ourselves?

Because maybe Devorah will merit to be answered when you are not. After all, that’s the same reason we ask the Rebbe to daven for us in the first place! Why not daven ourselves, directly to Hashem? The answer is that we do have to daven ourselves, we can’t just put it all on the Rebbe, but we ask the Rebbe to daven for us as well, in the hope that his zechus will help us and his tefilos will be answered. In exactly the same way, Devorah has great zechuyos, and maybe she will be answered, so why not get her to daven for you, as well as davening yourself, which you definitely must do?

  • TO # 7

The point is to give Tzedakah
to help a Chosson and Kallah.
    The point is Teffillah,
to daven for those needing a Chosson or Kallah.
The point is to be positive.
The point is to help someone else.
The point is to help yourself.
The point is to make a Kaily for Brochos.

    For sure give Tzedakah everyday,
    For sure daven anyway,
    For sure be besimcha always.

When Devorah gos to the Ohel and davens for you she is not davening alone she is davening in the names and the ZCHUS of all the ALMONOS, YESOMIM and all the FAMILYS that were and are being helped BY KSCVK. lets not forget what it says about yesomim and almonos and we say every day in brochos about hachnosas kallah
