New Children’s Club Launches Shabbos Program

This Chof Beis Shevat, Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch’s Suite 302 will introduce its Shabbos and Yom Tov Program.

Offering a four-week pilot-program curriculum to shluchos who register at the Kinus HaShluchos, the full Shabbos and Yom Tov Program, along with other initiatives, is set to launch this fall.

The club for ages 3-12 is inspired by the Rebbe’s teachings about the necessity to ensure every child’s enthusiasm and commitment to Jewish heritage, continuation, and values.

With the assistance of a devoted group of shluchos, the thoroughly researched program and intricately designed program material is adaptable to a variety of settings. The innovative Shabbos and Yom Tov Program curriculum was developed with the both the impressionable child and the busy shlucha in mind.

“This Shabbos program will save me hours every week,” says Shlucha and Youth Director Devorah Gancz of Suffern, NY. “I can’t wait to use it and see what else the club will offer.”

The holistic curriculum is designed to engage every child from every background on multiple levels and to bring Torah lessons into their lives in a fun and meaningful manner that is easy to grasp. Each week’s curriculum includes a lesson on the parsha with group discussion and application to the kids own lives, interactive games and activities, and relevant songs and stories.

“We realize that many different kinds of children, and even program leaders, are coming to Shabbos and Yom Tov programs,” explains Chaya Mushka Moskowitz, Program Manager of Chabad Children’s Club. “We wanted to ensure that every shlucha or Chabad House teenager could open our curriculum and instantly run a program for a wide range of kids.”

In addition to the Shabbos and Yom Tov Program to be launched this spring, plans are underway for much further development. Future offers include an interactive website, regional events, and exclusive gear. Furthermore, an exciting incentive system to make Judaism fun and cool will also offer a shared sense of belonging among Jewish children all around the world.

“The Rebbe recognized that affecting Jewish souls begins with reaching out to children,” explains Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch. “It is our hope that the Chabad Children’s Club will not only unite Jewish children worldwide, but will also ultimately change world Jewry as we know it.”
