Schach Pickup Information

The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council has once again arranged with the Forestry division of the NYC Parks Dept. to have all the Schach picked up.

Today, October 2nd and Thursday, October 3rd the Schach will be picked up by the Department of Parks. Please put the Schach along the curbside in front of your house.

Please have all the Schach tied up by string. Please do not put the schach in plastic bags.

If you miss this pickup, you may schedule your own pick up by calling 311.

    If it is known, it would be really helpful to post this Chol Hamoed. I always put out my Schach Issru Chag just in case the pickup ends up being that night (that happened one year, where I missed it).

    And when I tried calling 311 one year, they had no idea what I was talking about.

    Thank you, but…

    I took my schach down motzai yom tov (saturday night), and being that i didnt want it sitting on my porch all week i put it curbside last night, to be collected with todays trash collection (in bundels, not in bags), and lo and behold: they took it.

    Thanks, but this is slightly unnescary.
