Mechanchos to be Offered Free Holocaust Seminar in Israel!
CrownHeights.Info has just learned that the Merkos Chinuch Office is partnering with Yad Vashem in Yerushalayim to offer an expense paid 10 day Holocaust Education seminar in Israel this winter for Chabad mechanchos.
The seminar will feature a special program geared to Chabad educators, the curriculum and lecturers are approved by the Chinuch Office and hotel accommodations, tours and excursions and most meals are provided without charge. Applicants will need to be serious about the program and do some preparatory work but once accepted into the program, the only expense to participants is a registration fee and air fare.
This is an unparalleled opportunity for Chabad mechanchos to learn and experience Israel from a unique perspective, to learn and come back ready to share. The seminar will be limited to 30 participants; applications will be approved on a first come first served basis.
Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, director of the Chinuch Office said in an interview with CHI that the seminar is a first step in a Holocaust education program which Merkos is developing for Chabad mosdos, internationally. He added that there has been an “avalanche” of interest and the available spaces are filling quickly.
Dr. Avi Markovitz, educational director at Yad Vashem said “We are very excited about this program and hope to see it to its fruition. We expect also sponsor follow-up workshop return to the United States.”
