    what are the medical requirements in order to be a donar?? does it have to be only a male to male ?

    There should really be some more instructions on how to match the donor. Is there going to be a drive of some sort to swab cheeks and register potential donors? Is this being done in coordination with Gift of Life which has a proven track record with these inyanim and a huge database of potential donors?

    Blood type O is very rare. I hope they find someone.
    people with O blood aren’t even allowed at the front in the Israeli army.

    To be a donor, you have to be in good health. You will have a complete checkup, including bloodwork, ekg, chest x-ray, and actual tests on the physiology & functionality of the kidney. The tests will start from the most simple & basic & then the more specialized. For example, first a blood test to make sure a potential match, then ekg, chest x-ray. and only later CT scan of kidney. Blood types have to be compatible, but antigens do not need to match like by a bone marrow donation because the recepient will be on immunosuppresents There cannot be any antibodies between the blood. Donors and recepients do not need to be of same gender or even of same race. You can get a lot of info by googling kidney transplant unrelated donor.

    o type: I hope you were trying to be sarcastic. about 45% of the US has type O blood. A is the second most popular. AB is rare.

    Women should be past child bearing age.
    Pregnancy puts strain on all the mothers organs.
    They work twice as hard during this time.
    Liver for sure,
    Kidneys also.

    B- is the most rare. I know this because I am B- and needed a transfusion after giving birth. I now give blood in a regular basis becuase I know that if someone with my blood type needs blood it is hard to find.

    I always wonder what kind of help the doner gets after the procedure. If work is lost is there a fund that helps with lost wages? I would see if I’m a match since I’m not only o+ but am CMV- which means my blood can be used by someone with a compromised immune system, i.e. babies. but I do have my family first to worry about.

    not a problem if you are single past child bearing age.
    a child bearing girl should not sacrifice her kidney, as you do not know the future.
    what if you need it.
    pregnancy is not a simple deal all the time, and cannot be taken for granted at all.
