I think that rabbi hecht is one of the most ibergegebene shluchim around. I know for a fact that he poshut runs around all day doing mivsoim, learning with people, even simple jews. i have seen it first hand. He agreed to go to a rather small and not so wealthy community even though his father-in law is the head shliach of the whole Canada. Rabbi Hecht chose to go to a small community to bring yidishkeit to where no-one else wanted to go.
