PSA: Late Night Noise & No Gas Tonight
Tuesday, April 20, on the corner of Kingston Ave and Crown St. out of respect to Kingston Bakery and House of Glatt National Grid did not want to stop the gas lines leading to their buildings during the day (as part of the upgrading of the gas lines along Kingston Ave.) in order not to cause them any monetary loss.
Please understand that this will mean ongoing noise until around 9:00 PM tonight and please do not call the various agencies regarding noise issues, etc.

Oh? Why shouldn’t we call 311 if the utilities are making excessive noise? It’s not our fault that they decided to schedule the work at night, is it?
out of town
to “awacs”
Can you read? they are respecting us, won’t you kindly return the favor – or are you just a selfish jerk?
lms
to awacs, you’re stupid, didn’t you read, out of respect for the business owners, they are working at night.

My kids explained to me recently that people like “awacs” sit at their computers making annoying and machlokes inducing comments on blogs because they are bored souls and want to stir up a fight. They are very transparent when they take a combative stance on something that really does not even invite an argument, such as the above article.
It’s very considerate of National Grid not to disturb businesses. I’m sure the residents will appreciate the upgrade in their gas lines (and the increased safety that comes with it) enough to endure a couple of evenings of noise and no cooking. Hey, they can even get some takeout food from House of Glatt or the Bakery!
Rolling eyes at AWACS
UMMMM…Did u not read the whole 6 sentences???

“UMMMM…Did u not read the whole 6 sentences???”
Yes, I read the whole article, and I wasn’t impressed.
In order to help two businesses, NG is going to inconvenience a bunch of people. What about their right? Because I don’t run a store on Kingston, my blood is less red than Arkeh’s?

“or are you just a selfish jerk?”
Maybe, just maybe, the ‘selfish jerks’, as you put it, are the folks who ask for special accomodations, at the public’s expense? *That’s* not selfish?

“My kids explained to me recently that people like “awacs” sit at their computers making annoying and machlokes inducing comments on blogs because they are bored souls and want to stir up a fight.”
This is incorrect in my case. I think that our rights as residents have to be balanced here, and I don’t appreciate NG’s bending over backward to decrease our quality of life.
“It’s very considerate of National Grid not to disturb businesses.”
And very INCONSIDERATE to disturb residents. Doesn’t your right to extend your elbow end where my eye begins?

“to awacs, you’re stupid,”
lms, if you don’t have anything useful to say, why not use an ad hominem argument?
Oh wait …
awacs
“or are you just a selfish jerk?”
Oh, let’s see:
The businesses who asked for the work to be done in the evening, so *they* won’t be disturbed, but other people *will*, now that’s not selfish, but when *I* ask for the opposite, that being selfish?
I’m glad I don’t live in your world.
inconvenient
awacs has a point in his/her last post. But the employers won’t pay overtime for weekend work, so fuggedaboudit!
I live on HOG’s block of Crown & I didn’t hear any noise. Plus i cooked after 8PM & my gas was on.
