Building on its two year tradition, Shomrim has once again organized a free distribution of essential Pesach foods, from vegetables to fruits, dairy products and many items in between.

Throughout the evening yesterday, Wednesday, hundreds of families benefited, and Shomrim has managed to secure another two truckloads of items today. The distribution will resume today, Thursday, at 6:00pm in the parking lot of Beis Rivkah Lefferts [entrance from East New York and Brooklyn].

There is no need to be on any lists or have any vouchers, everyone is welcome to come and take whatever they feel they need. There is B"H no shortage of all the items.

    yes anyone can take! any person that needs can take! like we say in the Hagaddah “whoever is hungry, let him come and eat; whoever is in need let him come”.. These Shomrim members are always there for CH kuddos to them!

    Kol Hakavod, Tzedokoh in its most sublime form, the givers don’t know who take.

    Lubavitch leads again, other communities you need to follow suit. Do away with degrading lists etc, just provide.
    Hashem will help.

    YUKKK!!!! The carrots were spoiled! and moldy!! The potatoes were small- Can YOU imagine peeling 300 small potatoes?? The apples were also small and some were spoiled…… A whole crate of grapefruit were rotten! It was a very Sorry situation!
    The boys were working SOOOO hard to help everyone- THAT was REALLY beautiful!
    But the quality of the food was Horrible.
    Whoever donated the food got a nice tax write-off at OUR expense, because they delivered inferior quality goods.
    Thanks for trying- you sure had good intentions!

    ITS FREE YOU INGRATE. YOU DONT WANT IT, DONT TAKE IT. NOBODY HELD A GUN TO YOUR HEAD. GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, SOME PEOPLE… WHAT CAN YOU SAY? IF PEELING SMALL POTATOES IS TOO HARD FOR YOU TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO THE STORE AND BUY BIG POTATOES WITH YOUR MONEY.

    I DID go out and buy what I needed from my meager funds. I’m ALSO a person!! It says in the Torah- When you give Tzedaka it HAS to be in a way NOT to embarrass the recipient.
    Giving out inferior quality goods that vendors are trying to get rid of (& get a tax write-off for) is NOT Tzedaka. It’s an embarrassment to be given such goods…
    But again, the boys/men working there deserve a BIG yasher koach for all their time and effort..and the koach needed!!
