PSA: The Winter (or Summer) Experience of a Lifetime!
For 10 years Taglit-Birthright Israel has been offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; an all-expense paid trip to Israel for students ages 18-26. Yeladim-Netivot has made this incredible experience available to the frum community as well-we send frum, all-male and all-female Birthright trips to Israel every summer and every winter.
This 10 day trip includes learning about Israel, but mostly gives you the chance to see Israel with your own eyes, understand what Zionism is, and experience Eretz Yisrael in a new light. Through visiting Biblical sights, seeing ancient ruins, hiking through nature, living the culture, fun trips, and introspective discussions, Yeladim-Netivot strives to help each Jew find his own personal connection to Torah and Israel.
We would like to offer you this FREE trip to allow you to re-discover your roots in a new way.

Zionism
Zionism?! I think that as The Rebbes Chassidim we Should know pretty well what zionism is….
chosid
I was on this trip. The medina pays for it so it’s not such a terrible thing to show hakaras hatov but bpoel they just take you to some tzioni sites on the last day and the rest is pure eretz yisroel, no tzioni shutsim at all.
Chili

I just got back from the all male trip, and I must say, I had the most amazing time ever!
Not just physically, but spiritually too!
Many of us, get all worried because its “zionistic” and as commenter 1 also tried to complain, but having gotten to see it for myself, yeladim netivot is a frum organization, and plans the trips specially with that in mind.
They have our values.
As chasidim of the rebbe, instead of Paseling the whole thing because it says the Z word, we should inspect it up close.
there is very little that we disagree with the frum zionsits about.
The main issue that the frierdiker rebbe and the rebbe had with zionism was the anti religiou, communist, zionists.
Yes they take you to a few places that we may not idolize as much as them, and you may hear some views that we slightly differ on, but if you know what we hold, you will see that its really not such an issue.
But more importantly, about the trip, its a once in a lifetime experience, without comparison!
Do yourself a favor, and join the trip!
Even those that have seen israel, you can NEVER experience israel the way you do on the trip!
You get to meet “real” people. You get to truly understand what life in israel and under terrorist attack is like, and come away with a real respect and feeling for what goes on, and for the kedusha of eretz yisroel.
They may mention many times “make aliya”, but that’s not the ultimate agenda. Their idea is for everyone to get a personal feeling with eretz yisroel. Which anyone to ever heard the way the rebbe spoke about eretz yisroel, knows that this is indeed one of our values.
In short, AFTER being on the trip, and as a lubavitcher, I say, anyone who decides against the trip is doing themself a great injustice! And depriving themself of the chance of a lifetime! (Physically, spiritually and emotionally all in one)

Anon
why is there a picture of an “all girls tour” posing with a male soldier?
all-girls tour
ATTN Anon-that was a personal picture taken in a mall. The soldier was not connected to the trip in any way.

You make a great point about experiencing isreal like nothing else, and it being a once in alifetime opp.etc. Your also right about them not stressing zionism that much- and the proof is in your writing- your understanding of religous zionism is an uneducated guess at the very least and a gross misinterpetation at the most, the issue that puts into question the whole zionist ideology is the belief that the geulah has begun with the founding of the state of isreal.
The fact that you dont know this underscores how much they stress zionism on the trip….
ek
am I the only one who is uncomfortable with this “doing the Israel trip” being promoted as 100% ok? I know that there were many people who asked the rebbe about going to eretz yisroel for vacation, and never received and ok. Those that did, it was because of kibud av or to learn.
Before gimel tamuz, it was not simply accepted the way it sweems to be now. While obvioiusly everyone makes their own decisions about what is suitable for them to do (including college, beards and tznius), many people are not even aware that there is an issue.
me
I agree with anon, although the soldier was not connected to the trip, it is not tznius for (especially) a chasidush girl to be doing. would a frum girl pose in a picture with a bachur? if you wouldnt do for one, dont do it for another. it is a breach in our tznius and obligation in this world.
despite that, I just came back from and all girls trip and I had a blast!!!!!!!! our yechus and history becomes alive and a part of you when you are there. you get to visit kvarim, go on amazing hikes, and see lots of things, and best of all, the kosel!!!!! (oh, and the dead sea is loads of fun.) although, i must say that i was constantly worried about kashrus, and i had to pay for lunch every day, but that was it. everything was free, and when you go with a friend the experience is more fun and spiritual. i suggest everyone apply and go!!!!
All-Girls YL trp
@me-Yeladim Netivot offers glatt kosher meals, so frum people don’t have to worry about that.

Why you decided I don’t know what our issue is with religious zionism, I’m not sure!
I have a very educated knowledge of this, and actually made sure to say our point of view when needed.
I know our shitah very well, and I know how much zionism was and wasn’t stressed.
More likely you have an uneducated knowledge of what goes on on the trip.
Instead of deciding who is uneducated, and suggest gross misinterpetation, know the facts.
