Tofutti Brands Inc. is recalling “Vanilla Cuties” due to undeclared milk. The product was distributed in California, the Mid-Atlantic region, the Midwest, New England, and the New York City metro area.

Tofutti Brands Inc. is recalling “Vanilla Cuties” due to undeclared milk. The product was distributed in California, the Mid-Atlantic region, the Midwest, New England, and the New York City metro area.

The product is labeled with UPC 0-20188-01301-2 and manufacturing facility code 360-300.

Consumers may return the product to place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may call (908) 272-2400.

    I’m just puzzled that Chof K didn’t sight this. It’s very disturbing.

    it is cholov akum and it isnt on alot it is only on specific ones with a certain code on the inside flap printed a certain way

    I just Hope that the people who ate this are not allergic to milk because that would be worse then anything. People who are allergic an Get really sick or even stop breathing. I hope that these people at the plant are thinking about that….

    I had bought a box (which I now intend to return) for Shabbos dessert…everyone was so full so I decided against giving it to my family and guests. Hasgacha pratis since it turns out it is dairy.

    It is such a minute amount that it is still Parve (according to Chof K). Whether or not you should rely on this is a different matter.

  • Known Problems with Tofutti

    For your information there does exist a major problem with the way Tofutti Kashers their equipment which in esssence according to many (or all) poskim makes Tofutti Trief. This issue was dealt with at length on the Shluchim Achdus Forum. Ask your local Orthodox Rabbi For more info!

    If it’s just made in the same plant then there’s no actual milk in it although they have to write it on the pack. So there’s probably absolutely nothing wrong with it.

    I went into Empire Kosher and asked for a refund and the manager had no clue about the recall

    I have been eating this product for years. I rely on the Tofutti name in my diet since I am allergic to milk products. This news both shocks and dismays me.

    How can i ever be sure their kosher?
    (From my memory this is the second time there is a problem with the same product).
    by the way – i do like tofutti’s. but i would prefer to buy something guaranteed to be kosher.
