1. Length of time you have known Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin.
2. How you know Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin.
3. How you feel about him and the things he has done to help you or others you may know.
4. Why you know that Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin will not be a flight risk, and will show up to all the court cases and hearings as required.

It is very important that you mention in the letter how you feel confident he will not run from Postville!!

    It’s heartbreaking to see him shackled like a common criminal. What do those people think, he’s going to attack them?!! That Fed agent must be so happy to have that detail instead of violent criminals.

    It may be helpful to have the affidavits signed and notarized, with a sentance stating that if the judge/s need to contact you, they should feel free to do so.

    I would put my contact info, and state whether a US citizen or not.

    I once caught a ride with a non-Jewish gentleman who unprompted started raving about the Rubashkin’s and how much they mean to him and the true kindness they had showed him and his family.

    This fellow told me of his father who was sick with cancer a few towns over and how the Rubashkin’s told him that he should go care for his father. Relying on his salary at Agri to make ends meet, he knew that would be impossible, but the Rubashkin’s kept him on payroll while he took time off to tend to his father.

    i tried faxing my letter and it didn’t go through! I hope it was because so many people were faxing that the lines were busy. I hope it wasn’t the wrong number or somehting

    I agree that the Rubashkins deserve every kindness..and this picture is heartbreaking…but truly…I don’t think it is respectful to post of picture of Reb Sholom being taken away to prison.
