This Chol Hamoed Pesach, the Jewish Children’s Museum is bringing “Miracles!” to the puppet theatre by showcasing an original presentation of the wonders of Talmudic Sage Rabbi Chanina Ben Dosa.

The miracle is twofold. While the show’s theme is the life and times of what the Talmud calls “a man of miracles,” the show itself will be truly, well…miraculous. To depict the famous stories of Chanina, the Museum is partnering with the Small Wonder Puppet Theatre to transform an ordinary puppet-theatre intro a multi-media wonder. A twenty-foot-wide set will be used to feature a host of stage surprises not usually seen in puppet shows.

Each miracle story will unfold with the integration of large puppets, live actors, professional sound and light techniques and video animation on a large screen. Oh, and of course, flying objects and motorized animals.

What will happen when a girl gets trapped in a well? How will Chanina determine the true owner of lost chickens? Who will lift the gigantic rock dedicated for the Beis Hamikdash? As each miracle develops on the theatre stage, viewers of all ages will be amazed at how the various theatre media come together.

The show also features three original songs and incorporates valuable Torah lessons about Hashavas-Aveida, humility, honesty and faith.

The JCM is a hotspot for families during Pesach. Its visitors come to explore the Museum’s six floors of hands-on and interactive exhibits. Other Chol Hamoed features include Pesach-themed computer interaction, crafts and game shows.

Tickets for the JCM must be purchased in advance. To purchase tickets log onto www.jcm.museum
