Hachnasa L’cheder Ceremony al All My Children Day Care

Parents arrived with their young sons lovingly wrapped in talleisim, ready to mark a cherished milestone — the Hachnasa L’cheder. The event was led by beloved mechanech Rabbi Chaim Levi Goldstein, author of the Hachnasa L’cheder Guide. Rabbi Goldstein shared that this special minhag is a segulah for the child to grow into a true Talmid Chochom.

The focus of the day was the kinderlach— our precious guarantors — celebrating a mini Matan Torah of their own as they were introduced to the sweetness of Torah learning. Before beginning the traditional customs, the children read the book Levi Receives the Torah, written by AMC and starring their own classmates. The story helped them understand what an Arainfernish is, connecting it to their personal experience of receiving the Torah.

Guided by Rabbi Goldstein, the children joyfully recited the Aleph Beis from the Shaar Blaat of Tanya and an Aleph Beis chart. They then tasted the honey spread on the letters, symbolizing the sweetness of Torah. To further internalize their learning, they ate honey cake and eggs with engraved Pesukim — a beautiful minhag linking sensory experience of taste, touch, and Torah.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and holiness. Laughter and joy echoed as the boys were showered with candies from “Malach Michoel,” adding a magical touch to the day. The celebration concluded with heartfelt dancing, as each child was lifted onto the shoulders of his father — a moment of pride, love, and joy.

May these beginnings grow into a lifetime of Torah, B’ezras Hashem, and may we merit to greet Moshiach with the pure voices of our children leading the way.
