Multiple Cars Damaged In Possible Police Pursuit

Update: The driver in this incident has been identified as a 47-year-old male who was placed under arrest by the NYPD. According to the police, the man was found to have the smell of alcohol on his breath, but refused to take a breathalyzer test. Six people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries from the incident. The police have also denied that they were pursuing the man prior to the crash.

A white utility van driving the wrong was on E94th St between Rutland and Winthrop in Remsen Village crashed into multiple parked cars in what witnesses claim was a police pursuit.

The late night incident originally was dispatched by the FDNY as an auto extrication, but was later updated to a person intentionally crashing into cars.

A CrownHeights.info reporter who was on scene spoke with witnesses who claimed that the van was being pursued by the NYPD prior to the incident.

The FDNY transported multiple injured victims from the scene.
