Residents, elected officials, and local activists toured the brand new ODA facility on East New York Ave in Crown Heights Tuesday evening at a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking a new era in Crown Heights healthcare.

A major Frum heath network, the opening of the ODA facility provides the community with an array of health services from regular checkups to specialized diagnoses and treatments.

“ODA is committed to serving those with less access to healthcare and working with community members to find the best plan to fit them,” the ODA said in a press release. “They work tirelessly to treat issues in the early stages, as a path to health can often be lengthy.”

The new East New York Ave facility is a 16,200-square-foot medical office between Troy and Schenectady Ave. The new facility will provide adult and pediatric medicine, as well as future plans to include other specialties such as OBGYN and mental health.

As a jumpstart to the new health center, DR. Eli Rosen’s Pediatrics office had previously announced its plans to merge with the ODA. The news was announced in a letter to the community, where they write that the decision was made to “better serve our ever-growing patient population and continue to provide them with quality medical care well into the future.”

With the opening of the new health location, Crown Heights residents can expect to find more available appointments and shorter wait times. An exact date for when the center will open to the public has yet to be announced.

Notable individuals at the event included NYC Comptroller Brad Lander, NYC Councilmember Darlene Mealy, NYS Assemblymember Brian Cunningham, NYS Assemblymember Simcha Eichenstein, NYC Councilmember Kalman Yeger, and NYS Senator Simcha Felder, Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez.

Many other local activists and public servants also attended the event, including Rabbi Yaacov Behrman of Community Board 9 and Rabbis Gadi and Mendy Hershkop of Crown Heights Shomrim.
