Dozens of Crown Heights Shomrim volunteers gathered Motzei Shabbos for an appreciation Melava Malka to honor their steadfast commitment to the Crown Heights Jewish community.

The volunteers heard Divrei Chizuk from Crown Heights Shomrim coordinator Rabbi Mendy Hershkop, who said “Chazal tell us that אין בעל הנס מכיר בנסו – even the one that the miracle was performed for doesn’t recognize the miracle was performed for him. Shomrim is a miracle of Crown Heights that people don’t even realize and recognize on a daily basis.”

The coordinators of Shomrim then received an award on behalf of the entire organization from Associated Beth Rivkah Schools for the volunteers dedication, commitment and support presented by the schools director Rabbi Shalom Goldstein.

In his remarks, Rabbi Goldstein cited multiple instances where Shomrim responded to assist at the school, saying We are extremely grateful for the dedication and quick response and prevention that Shomrim affords Bais Rivkah.”

The Shomrim volunteers also took the time together to further their training, ensuring that they would always be prepared to assist the community when in need.
