Tomorrow, our great community affairs Detecitve Mike Baratta will be promoted to Sergeant! Congratulations on this momentous achievement!

This is a great opportunity to say thank you on behalf of the community for your astounding commitment and dedication to serve and protect.

When the venerable Detective Vinny Martinos retired, you were able to step into that role and continue his amazing work. You have worked together with him for some years and picked up right where he left off. I believe there isn’t a single officer in the NYPD that would be able to fill in for Detective Martinos besides for you! You have done so with grace and wisdom. The impact you have here is going to be missed. The knowledge and compassion you have to deal people from multiple communities and all walks of life is legendary.

To the leaders of NYPD – Please bring Sergeant Baratta back as soon as possible. I doubt you will find an officer of any rank that means so much to the heartbeat of a community as does Sergeant Mike Baratta!
