Chanukah at Oholei Torah – A Delight For Every Single Student

Chanukah in Oholei Torah was buzzing with activities, contests and meaningful programs for every single student, from Kindergarten all the way to 8th Grade.

On Monday, the first day of Chanukah, the Kindergarten students at both the East Flatbush and Eastern Parkway locations enjoyed a phenomenal puppet show, performed by the Small Wonder Puppet Theater. Other exciting activities that took place throughout the week were latka making, donut decorating, dreidel games and a Chanukah themed music session!

Elementary students were treated to a fun filled day brimming with Chanukah themed activities and plenty of donuts and exciting prizes to go around!

On one of the nights of Chanukah, the middle school talmidim (grades 5-6) davened Mincha in Zal and sang Haneiros Halalu together. Throughout the days of Chanukah there were many raffles drawn and prizes awarded for actions such as arriving on time to school and answering the daily Chanukah trivia question.

Grades 3-7 were also treated to a spellbinding performance by illusionist Ilan Smith which was organized by the dedicated members of the PTA.

The 8th Grade Talmidim took part in many different programs and activities throughout the 8 days of Chanukah. They enjoyed dreidel games, Chanukah parties, Farbrengens and played interactive Chanukah games with their teachers.

A meaningful moment was when the entire division gathered together to hear about the struggles and bravery of the Kantonistim from a special storyteller.

A highlight of the week was definitely the ‘Silent Dancing’ during which the talmidim danced joyously, celebrating the incredible spirit of Chanukah.

All of the talmidim were invited to take part in a Menorah Contest through which they had to creatively build a Menorah out of the material of their choosing.

The menahalim thank the Oholei Torah PTA for all their support and help with all the chanukah projects and events throughout the yeshiva
