Oholei Torah Marks Rosh Chodesh Kislev
The spirit of Rosh Chodesh Kislev rang throughout the halls of Oholei Torah.
Every child, every bochur, every teacher, and every staff member took part in the day of celebrations commemorating a day that is held dear by all Chassidim.
The kindergarten students were treated to an exciting trip to the Rebbe’s house and participated in farbrengens, rallies, and lively l’chaims on cups filled with grape juice.
The younger elementary grades also enjoyed farbrengens and rallies of their own accompanied by lovely music, animated pesukim, and hachlotos tovos.
Grades 5,6 and 7 enjoyed a beautiful day filled with meaningful and exciting activities. Their day began with shacharis in the Beis Medrash Zal. Being that this year Rosh Chodesh Kislev took place on a Friday, a delectable breakfast was served as the boys enjoyed their program. Rabbi Blau, the Menahel Kloli of the Yeshiva, farbrenged with the talmidim and paid special tribute to Gabi (an Oholei Torah alumnus) and Rivky Holtzberg on their yartzeit. The Talmidim spoke about their mesiras nefesh in their shlichus and what we can learn from them.
The boys then sang the Rebbe’s niggunim all together, with live music accompanying the powerfully sweet sound of hundreds of children singing together, connecting to their Rebbe through the Rebbe’s niggunim.
The Mesivta Bochurim were treated to an inspiring farbrengen lead by all of their mashpiim, and a bochur who shared a powerful story of the Rebbe. The uplifting words and stories were interspersed with live music played by bochurim, raffles to win various seforim, and spontaneous dancing.
The bochurim heard how they can utilize the month of Kislev to enhance their avodas Hashem and about the importance of hiskashrus to the Rebbe.
The energy was tremendous, palpable and extremely contagious. Everyone left yeshiva that day on a high – connected, inspired and empowered.
Special thanks to all of the dedicated staff members and shluchim who invested much time and effort to ensure that the spirit of the special day would be properly felt by everyone.
