Gallery: Oholei Torah First Day of Limudim
Today, Oholei Torah elementary, Mechina and Mesivta started the Shnas Halimudim for 5782.
Over 1300 Talmidim entered the main campus on Eastern Parkway and were greeted with balloons and music. The Menahalim greeted the talmidim and encouraged them to carry the excitement of the first day of school through the year into their learning and growing as young chassidim.
The Mechina/Eighth Grade made history, as they now have their own separate building on 417 Troy Avenue, a building that thousands of Oholei Torah alumni went through over the past 50 years. The building went through major renovations to upgrade making it comfortable and suitable for the Mechina Talmidim.
“This suitable building, with a large Bais Medrash makes the adjustment of transforming a young yeshiva boy to a bochur”, said Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm, Menahel of the Mechina.
The Mesivta division, which as previously announced, will be moving to Remsen Avenue. As the new Mesivta campus is in its final weeks of preparation, the Mesivta began the year in a rented school building just a few blocks from where they will iy”h be after Tishrei. Rabbi Moshe Silman, Menhahel, is most appreciative of the efforts of the Board of Directions and key supporters who are making a long-time dream for the Mesivta a reality.
