Hatzalah Volunteers Receive Award For Their Role In Rescuing Lost Child

It was a story of miracles, and the family of Yosef Shapiro did not forget to thank Hashem’s shluchim.

Eight of the volunteers that were in the search party that ultimately found six-year-old Yosef deep in the marshes of Canarsie Park gathered together Tuesday with Hatzalah and NYPD brass at a small ceremony attended by Yosef and his family.

There the volunteers were present when placard honoring work the NYPD did was awarded to one of the commanding officers and received personal thanks from the family of Yosef Shapiro.

Yisroel Krasnianski, who was one of the volunteers from Crown Heights Hatzalah, had the chance to reunite with Yosef in a happier setting.

“I’m proud of what we did and proud to have been a representative of Crown Heights Haztalah” Yisroel Krasnianski said.” Above all, I feel privileged to have been Hashem’s shliach and a part of this beautiful miracle.”

Krasnianski, who initially shied away from the public eye, was the Hatzalah volunteer who famously put over the radio transmission notifying that Yosef had been found.

“Maybe we continue to see a חוט של חסד and בשורות טובות blow through our communities and the broader world,” added Kransnianski, “replacing the גבורה and דין that has been dominant in our midst for too long now. אמן וכן יהי רצון!”
