“The Colorful Hue” Brings Personalized Palettes and Fashion To Crown Heights
by CrownHeights.info
It may sound comical, but did you know that we have at least 40 different words just to describe shades of the color red?
Scarlet and crimson, cerise and magenta, maroon, carmine, claret and burgundy, as well as carnelian and cherry and cardinal red. To say nothing of ruby or garnet or vermilion, and wine-red, rust-red, rufous-red, terracotta-red and more.
With so many choices, how can you know what is right for you? Wouldn’t it just be so much easier if there was someone to ask about what colors are right for you?
To fill this massive void, Chana Hurwitz launched The Colorful Hue| BY CHANA, a personal fashion and consulting service for Crown heights based around personal palettes.
Chana began her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology to broaden her knowledge and learn more about fashion and design.
“It was so eye opening and interesting, and I loved every minute of it,” Chana told CrownHeights.info. “Once I got certified, I went further and flew to Atlanta for a week where I had an intense week of learning about color palettes and painting.”
In Atlanta, Chana honed her skill on how to determine seasons and being able to paint the right quality of color. She focused her study on how to use the correct pigments of paint for a person’s personal palette, and developed a sensitivity for the harmonies and what each part of the palette “says” for the person.
“Every single palette I paint is unique,” Chana stressed. “The actual colors on your palette are developed from your pigmentation which I get from your skin, eyes and hair color.”
“My main goal is to help my clients feel happy with their appearance and confident with choosing their clothing,” she said. “The best part is at the end you will see how wearing certain colors really make your face glow and eyes pop. It is a really fun and educational session.”
For Chana, palettes is not just a job, but something she loves.
“I wanted to get into the fashion world, but didn’t know where to begin,” Chana explained. “I became stenographer, mostly because I had to get dressed up every day and I loved that, but once I became a wife and mother I realized how important it is to have a job where my hours can be flexible and also enjoy what I do.”
Years later, after having launched The Colorful Hue| BY CHANA, she has now achieved her dream.
She is a specialist for color, design and fashion related products. She is a color forecaster that paints color palettes. She is a personal shopper for makeup and clothes, and teaches all about color and how to use color for kids and teens.
As Kiff Holland once said, “Color creates, enhances, changes, reveals and establishes the mood of the painting.” The same can be said for the colors and fashion we wear.
