Eastern Parkway was filled Thursday as people bade farewell to Rabbi Yonah Avtzon OBM, an icon of Crown Heights. Rabbi Avtzon passed away overnight Wednesday night, and due to family flying in, the Levaya was held Thursday morning. As it passed 770, hundreds of community members could be seen accompanying him to his final resting place.
Rabbi Yonah Avtzon was a well known Shadchun who helped many in Chabad find their spouses. Perhaps even better known, was the project he put his life to, Sichos in English, as he translated and compiled the Rebbes Sichos into English so that everyone could access them.
