Premier of Victoria Lights Menorah in Parliament

Chabad of Melbourne’s Central Business District (CBD), led by Rabbi Chaim Herzog, held their annual Menorah Lighting on Wednesday at the Victoria Parliament House, with the attendence of dignitaries, officials, and members of the local Jewish community.

This was Chabad’s 12th event in Parliament and their 20th in the City of Melbourne.

A large crowd, including many Jewish community leaders, were in attendance for the Chanukah Festivities and ensuing Cocktail Party.

In attendence was the Premier of Victoria, the Hon. Daniel Andrews; the leader of opposition, the Hon. Matthew Guy; and Member of Caulfield MC, David Southwick MP.

In his address to those assembled in Queen’s Hall, Rabbi Herzog spoke of the significance of celebrating Chanukah, The Festival of Lights. He was then joined at the podium by Mr. Andrews for the formal Menorah lighting ceremony.
