New Cycle of Rambam Begun by Grieving Father
Thousands of members of the Chabad community in Paris gathered last night for the annual Siyum HaRambam, marking the completion of the Rambam’s famed work and the beginning of the new cycle for the coming year.
The emcee of the event was Rabbi Benyamin Mergi. Rabbi Avraham Boruch Pevzner was honored with making a siyum on the Rambam, while the honor of beginning the new cycle was given to Rabbi Menachem Mendel Sarfati, Shliach to the Paris suburb of Poissy, who tragically lost his 7-year-old son to a construction truck accident during Sukkos.
The guest speaker was Shliach to Geneva, Switzerland, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Pevzner, and addresses were also delivered by Olivier Kaufmann and Rabbi Mendel Azimov.
