Photos: Second Graders Enjoy Pomodori Pizza
Students from Lubavitcher Yeshivas Second Grade were treated to a special lunch in Pomodori Pizza in honor of the shops 1st anniversary. After bentching the children recited Tanya by-heart, fulfilling the Rebbes directive in Hayom Yom.
Owner Avremel Lokshin told CrownHeights.info “our kids are our greatest resource and it is special to give back to them in honor of our anniversary”.
Last year this same grade visited and were among its first “customers” who inaugurated the new shop by making Brochos, learning Chumash and reciting the twelve Pesukim in the newly opened store.
Pomodori will be featuring a .99 cent special on regular slices for all customers tomorrow, Thursday. (limit two per customer and for dining in only).
The past few days Kingston Avenue shoppers would have noticed many Lubavitcher Yeshiva students visiting stores and learning Tanya by-heart in return for goodies. This was done in conjunction with the Hayom Yom of Yud Alef Teves where the Rebbe talks of the importance of “purifying the air” by reciting torah by heart.
This is done as part of Lubavitcher Yeshivas hands on learning initiative which has been implemented by Rabbi Yoseph Y. Simpson, the schools principal.
Lubavitcher Yeshivas PTA is hosting its annual benefit auction this weekend, with a special program for men on Motzai Shabbos, and for women on Sunday. Tickets can still be purchased on their website yttl.org/auction2012

You will always find Rabbi Karp showing his support to the eateries in CH! My son was in his 2nd grade class when Basil opened up. Sure enough the entire class got to go on a field trip to Basil to check it out.
This is such a positive thing!
1. Rabbi Karp shows them how important it is to support your own.
2. He allows the shopkeepers and other patrons to benefit from the Torah that he and the class proudly say.
3. It gives the kids (and Rabbi) much needed exercise and fresh air.
4. It shows the kids that they’re special – hey, going to new places to eat for lunch instead of Zahava’s food is pretty cool!
