Is it OK to play chess or any other board game in a Shul/Bais Hamedrash?! There is good reason not to learn on that evening, but the dinim of Kedushas Bais Haknesses and Bais Hamedrash still apply. This activity would be more appropriate for the Yeshiva dining room or dorm

I don’t get it. How can a person perfect his game of chess if only played one night a year? I think every night after diligent learning gemoro, a student should be encouraged to play chess as an outlet. Who agrees with me raise his pawn.

And what might make you think that they only play one night or one day a year????
How do you go about making that assumption?
