Beis Rivka High School Marks Yud Tes Kislev

In honor of Yud Tes Kislev girls in Beis Rivka High School enjoyed a full day of programs, arranged by students and faculty, all geared to bring Chassidus alive and easy to understand in a practical way. The students heard lectures from Shluchim and enjoyed a special ‘museum’ which was created by the 12th grade students.

The day began with a lecture from Rabbi Manis Friedman who explained how the Tanya is practical in our everyday lives.

Based on Shaar Yichud VeHaemunah 12th grade students presented a number of workshops to the younger grades. The material was based on Chitas for Kids created by Shlucha Nechama Dina Hecht.

One part of the workshops was the Hachana Room which was made up thanks to the participation of over 200 students throughout the high school. Each student learned a page of Tanya, and then wrote a summery and all the pages were displayed in this room.

The highlight of the day was the exhibits which were expertly prepared by the 12th Grade students. Titled ‘Jewish History Illuminated’, students walked through nine separate exhibits all themed after stories in the Torah and Tanach and students themselves gave presentations on each one, explaining it through Chassidus.

Lunch was a special Seudah all in an army theme of Tzivos Hashem and was made possible thanks to Rabbi Benji Stock.

The day concluded with a speech from Rabbi Sholom Paltiel, Shliach in Port Washington, NY, who spoke about Yud Tes Kislev and Chassidus in our day to day lives.

After such an inspiring day girls made their way to Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, Kings Highway and Sheepshead Bay on Mivtzoim to give out Chanukah Menorahs and pamphlets.

The exhibits will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, to the public from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Suggested donation $5.
