Bulgarian Vice Prime Minister Honored by Merkos
Over 250 leading Chabad supporters joined together at the Brooklyn Marriott for this year’s “Chabad Partners Conference” held on Sunday as a prelude to the Gala Banquet of the Kinus Hashluchim.
The community leaders participated in workshops on the crisis in Ukraine and the Chabad response to last summer’s war in Gaza. They joined a “Town Hall Meeting” that focused on their involvement in local Chabad centers
At the Plenary Session, a special award was given to the Honorable Tsvetan Tsvetanov, the former Vice Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Bulgaria, for his concern and dedication in helping the families of a terror attack that claimed the lives of 5 Israeli citizens in July 2012.
The award was signed by the Chief Rabbis of Israel and Russia, the speaker of the Knesset, Rabbis Krinsky and Kotlarsky and leading members of the Bulgarian Jewish Community.
