Photos: The Three Mile Long Parade of Light!
This year’s Chanuakh Menorah Parade was one of the largest ever. Stretching over three miles long with over 350 private vehicles participating – along with a Double Decker bus and 30 Mitzvah Tanks, it surly brought the biggest pirsumei nisa ever to the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan.
As the parade began making its way through the streets of downtown Manhattan, one of the highway patrol escorts called out on his loudspeaker to a traffic cop: “hold [the cars] there, I have about three thousand minivans behind me,” emphasizing just how immense this parade was.
A special thanks goes to Mendel Inglis and Mendy Mentz, the directors of the parade, and to the dozens of volunteers who made it all happen.
The parade is a project of the Mitzvah Tank Org. under the auspices of the Lubavitch Youth Organization.
