Photos: Inter-School Convention’s Gala Banquet
This afternoon the Inter-School High School Convention reached its crescendo when over 800 high school students packed into the Beis Rivkah Ballroom for the annual Gala Banquet.
Following the theme of the entire weekend, “Taamu U‘reu Ki Tov Hashem,” the banquet comes on the heels of an entire Shabbos packed with Shiurim, Workshops and farbrengens.
Rabbi Mendy Samuels, Shliach in Simsbury, CT, gave an inspiring and powerful speech on the theme.
The banquet featured a unique interactive texting activity, in which students got to put their smartphones to good use. The crowd was asked questions and everyone had the opportunity to answer via text message; their answers appeared in real time on the projected screens.
One of the highlights of the banquet was the ‘roll call’ – the calling out of each state and school – at the conclusion of which the girls broke out into joyous singing and dancing.
