7th Graders Rewarded With Exciting Manhattan Trip

One Oholei Torah 7th grade class were rewarded with a tour around Manhhatan in a stretch Hummer limo, a speedboat, and for three lucky raffle winners, a helicopter ride as well.

This trip came after the students participated in the many programs and Mivtza’s for the 7th grade in Oholei Torah, which was organized by Hatomim Levi Druin.

There was the Mivtza for Yud Shvat which included filling in a daily Duch and waking up early to learn Bosi Legani. The winners for that Mivtza were rewarded with an oppertunity to make their own sushi. Nearly all the students in the 7th grade participated.

The next Mivtza was a Hachono for Yud Aleph Nissan, for which all the entire 7th grade was rewarded with a delicious BBQ and a trip to the park.

The Mivtza that has just finished was the amazing Mivtzah Hachono L’Gimmel Tammuz. Since the year was coming to an end, in order to make sure everyone was interested and involved in the Mivtza it had worthwhile for them to go for it.

Every single 7th grader participated and gave it all they got. They came early for a Tanya Shiur every morning, filled out their daily Duchs, and answered the random question of the week.

Rabbi Shapiro’s class, the class that had the most points, was rewarded with a grand tour of Manhattan!

They left Oholei Torah in a gigantic-stretch Hummer limo, and went straight to the Beast, a speedboat ride around Manhattan’s beautiful skyline. They were then treated to Bravos pizza, and went to the top of the Empire State Building.

After, they had the craziest and most amazing scavenger hunt they have ever had.

Before returning to Crown Heights, they stopped off at Ground Zero where they were able to see firsthand what they had only heard about before. It then got even better with three 7th graders who won a raffle to go on a 15 minute tour of Manhattan by helicopter!

A special thank you goes out to all the parents who helped sponsor the Mivtza, including the Manhattan trip, the 2nd place bowling trip, the BBQ, Tanya Shiurim, and Pizza and Ice cream. A very special and heartfelt thank you goes to the parents of Reb Michoels Minyan and the PTA, without whom, the Mivtza would not have been possible.
