Montreal Celebrates Lag BaOmer

Over 4,000 people of all ages used a beautiful day in Montreal Sunday to celebrate Jewish pride in what was one of the city’s largest Lag BaOmer Parade in years.

The crowd marched from Beth Israel Beth Aaron Congregation of Cote St. Luc to Centennial Park accompanied by creative floats prepared by bochurim of the Yeshiva Zal and mesivta.

Rabbi Dovid Cohen, the organizer along with head Shliach Rabbi Berel Mochkin was the MC and greeted participants to the festival honoring Rabbi Shimon bar Yochei’s yahrzeit.

Young students of Beth Rivkah and Free Hebrew for Juniors and Yesivah YTT recited the 12 Pesukim.

Over 15 inflatables, circus performers, pony rides, petting zoo, horse rides and free gifts awaited the excited and eager Jewish children.

“It was the one of the most beautiful parades montreal ever had” said Rabbi Cohen, “I would like to thank all the volunteers that made the parade a great success.”
