Jewish Children’s Museum Throws Purim Bash

The Young Leadership Committee of the Jewish Children’s Museum hosted a grand Purim bash in a Manhattan loft, complete with sumptuous delights, along with a rocking DJ and lively dancing. Attending were young entrepreneurs and socialites.

The Young Leadership is coordinated by Rabbi Chaim and Rochi Benjaminson, the young leadership division is a young, professional Jewish community within the Jewish Children’s Museum, whose purpose is to create, host, and promote meaningful Jewish cultural experiences that communicate awareness and tolerance for all people through entertainment and education of a Jewish life.

This past summer the Young Leadership held a ribbon cutting ceremony officially inaugurating the Museums brand new 4th floor.

These kool dude parties, beardless men mingling with women should at the very least be kept away from the shechunah. Totally against what the Rebbe stood for.
    Bad example for our youths.
    R. Benjamison for shame !

  • V'Nahapoch Hu

The new wave in Crown Heights, the Rebbes shchuna…the monkeys took over the zoo…they are showing the natives how to behave/dress/mingle/socialize.
What happened to the times that when the outsiders came to our neighborhood they had to meet our standards?

  • Bushes!!!

Feh, the rebbe’s Mossad, tzvivos has hem should have such an event, nu, but to be proud and advertise! Bushes un char pas!!!!

  • Duby

Did you get permission this time to re-post the YLC’s event and pictures ?

  • Horrified

This looks worse than acheshverosh’s party!
    Is this a jewish event?
    a Lubavitch event?????
When Lubavitch organizes a party, we play by our rules. Not by the goyshe rules these people are used to.

  • esther(Benarroch)Michael

chaim and rochie you are two awesome people may you go from srength to strength in what you do. looks like an awesome party. you two rock

  • bleeding heart

I am sure SB Baumgarten was perfectly fine with this level of condoned untzniuskiet – so long as it helps him get the jcm out of its $20 million in debt.

  • duch

Hey Chaim, would you be comfortable submitting this in a Duch to the Rebbe? How about you Yerachmiel?

  • overlooking

Overlooking the fact that this whole thing is very very wrong, I think it is great that young and unaffiliated people are getting involved in helping our moisdos! Who cares about halacha… Right?

  • I don't understand

People here are bashing Tzivos Hashem for hosting this event.

If a shliach went to a party/organization to read meggilah, we would all be so proud of him, for going there and doing the mitzvah, regardless of what the people are doing at the party.

These young people would be going to other parties on purim with non kosher food, and a lot worse going on…. I’m sure part of this is to have a way for them to mingle with jews… to eat kosher, and celebrate jewish holidays. There is NO WAY they would go to a shul otherwise…..

I do think it should not be publicized for the, that is correct. but you cannot just leave them out and let them get lost….

shame on the people who are writing the negative feedback here… they are just jealous

just because a person, or a group of people, have a propensity for going to indecent establishments, that does not mean that you go ahead an host those things ‘so that they dont go there’.

We have a Torah and a Shulchan Aruch that dictate the way we live our lives, and to say that ‘if we dont do this -they will do worse’ does not give you a free pass on halacha.

This party was not something that the jcm happened to ‘show up’ to as you deceitfully suggest. They have been planning this for months leading up to purim – with facebook invites etc. and it is not thier first achashveirosh party that they hosted.

At least this time they had the decency to take it out of Crown Heights….

    • Saichel ?

i never saw a shaliach so Smart to post such pictures as smart as the people of the museum of nothing to do with hashem

the problem is not Tzivos heashem C”V
the problem is people like baumgarten and the rest of mashchissim destroying
moisdos and try to act as Groyseh Tzadikim with a Peh

  • Purim ?

the different between seudas Achashveirosh and this Hula Hula
    by achashveirosh was KOSHER FOOD
looks like at this place not a kosher kitchen only one sink yet how could the food be kosher ????

    • wat the heck!?

how do u know it wasnt kosher food?how do u know it wasnt kosher food?how do u know it wasnt kosher food?how do u know it wasnt kosher food?how do u know it wasnt kosher food?

  • not suprised

ever since they made their mixed concert, i do not let my kids visit the museum. they have to know that this is not Lubavitch.

  • my opinion

the question is not on them, as much as it is on the media that promotes them.

  • mee

what does this got to do with tzivos hashem, accept trying to make money for themselves. Why cant you have young lubavitcher leadership commmittee for people of our neighborhood who’s children would bennefit from the museum

  • great looking crowd!

Everyone seems to be having a great time. Pleasant on the eyes and enjoying Purim. What’s the problem?

  • wat

    u people are allllllllllll crazy
these days this is how people enjoy comeing closer to yiddishkeit if they were told to come to a purim party- separate seating- no one wouldve showed up!
it depends on the crowd-looks like they had a lot of fun

  • To #16 HUH?

That was the most pathetic thing I’ve ever read in my life! You’re so closed minded and don’t know the meaning of being Lubavitch. Chabad is all about bringing people closer to yidishkeit. That was the motive of the party and there was nothing wrong with it. Awesome job Chaim and Rochi, the party looks amazing!

  • JUST SAYING....

I really feel sorry for those who put down Tzivos Hashem, they host a young leadership Purim event to bring Jews ages 20-30 closer to judism and work hard to accpllish that goal and all those people who comment by degrading them are just either jealous or sad..

I would like to thank The Benjaminsons and the Tzivos Hashem committee for doing such an amazing job in their shlichus! Kol hakavod and Hatzlocha!!

  • Truth

Great idea. Fact is people will be in bars otherwise and the only way to get theses people is if u do a fun party. Seperate seating won’t get anyone.. And it is our duty to attract this crowd. But don’t post these pictures on crownheights.info or any frum sight.

  • Och Un Vay

A Schuna we and are families used to run to, and now, a Schuna that we and are families run from.

    A Shlucha

  • Naftoli & Shterna

Keep up the great work guys!!! As always!!
    P.S. You guys look awesome!;)

  • PERSONAL OPINION...

wow so many different comments and so many people bashing these shluchim! To the people who said they should have seperate seating..im sorry to say this but almost NO chabad houses host partys with separate seating for men and women… Im more than sure that these young sociallites or college students or whatever have many other parties they can attend to and the fact that these shluchim are bringing the people who seem like are the furthest from yiddishkeit is amazing!! If they were to host a party with separate seating no body would show up and yes there are people in these pics who are dressed very inappropriately but that’s not at all something that these shluchim are in control of…yet its up to the chabad media what they want to post on their sites and what they dont! And for the people who said the rebbe wouldnt be proud seeing this im sure the rebbe would have tonz of nachas seeing these shluchim bring people who are so lost back home! yet this party definetly could of have been a more appropiate environment there is no need what so ever to say anything negative about these shluchim who dedicated their lives to doing the right thing!!
