Photos: The Aftermath of the West-Indian Day Parade

Going for a walk the Monday evening, following the thousands who paraded on Eastern Parkway marking Labor Day, our photographer observed crews hard at work cleaning up the mounds of trash left behind in their wake.

    Let the organizers of the affaair pay for the cleanup–the rest of the taxpayers should not be burdened.

    Brother, why can’t they do their march on UTICA, it’s more suitable there. Eastern Parkway is too elegant and holy for a jerkey bash. The smoke’s on Utica.

    You guys are making it sound like frum Jews at a Parade would never throw something out on the ground.

    Can we cue the slide show of pictures from after the Lag Baomer parade?

    You really think the streets are spotless when frum Jews are done their party?

    Lets stop being children. Sure it would be nice if people threw things in the trash but before you can say you are any better don’t call everyone else names.

    Almost any event of that size leaves behind a huge mess — the major exception is TEA Party and related events, which have a record of leaving their sites clean, often cleaner than they found them.

    hey dont complain we leave the same mess as them, look at lag baomer parade was not as bad as this but it still was a mess!!

    Give them a break! They have this for one day and we all complain. Think of the whole month of our holidays….. its alot longer than just one day! really not such a big deal

    actual the city bills them for the clean up and and a large portion of the over time that is paid to the cop when they get the events permit for eastern parkway

    Please remember that Jewish people live near Utica too. Just because it isn’t the center of Jewish Crown Heights, doesn’t mean we abandoned it.

    So really, what was the point to take out these pictures and then post them? Jews are not the cleanest people around, and with THOUANDS walking around and standing shoulder to shoulder I really wonder where the trash cans will fit in!! Seems to me people don’t have anything better to do than take pictures of the end of a party!!

    actually i was IN the parade and the route wasn’t as bad with the trash as it BEEN in recent years .. why everyone always focusing on the negative??? only fools and uneducated worthless ppl focus on negativity .. such as why this world so mash up n keep getting worse by the seconds
