Lag B’omer in Pittsburg
Over five hundred men women and children gathered outside the Yeshiva Schools in Pittsburgh, on Sunday Lag B’Omer to say the 12 pesukim, to hear words of encouragement from the local three day schools leadership and pray for the coming of Moshiach.
That was followed by a parade for over seven blocks which passed the Hillel day school and the Aleph Institute en-route to the playgrounds which is at the third Jewish day school in Pittsburgh.
Those who addressed the community at the gathering, were thankful for Chabad and Rabbi Choni Friedman in particular for organizing this community wide event which brought all members of the community together for a great celebration, and a great show of strength of unity.
Representatives from Hillel Academy, Yeshiva Schools, AskNoah.org, Chabad on Campus and Chabad in Fox Chapel among others marched with police escort and accompanied by the Moshe Pekkar and Yehoshua Hoexter band.
Sports activities, children’s rides, horse riding and a great BBQ were waiting for all at the CDS fields, where hundreds more men women and children were gathered and spent the day with the bows and arrows.
