In a show of unity and grandeur, the entire Oholei Torah elementary division, under the leadership of Rabbi Hershel Lustig, Dean, held a Siyum Rambam today, Monday 22 of Adar.

Rabbi Lustig opened the ceremony with the importance of following the rebbe’s call to make siyumim on the Rambam, and the wealth of knowledge we receive from learning the rambam every day.

Schneur Zalman Butman, from the 8th grade, said a Kapitol tehillim , and Sholom Kalmanson made the actual Siyum.

Moshe Goldstein enthralled the talmidim with a story of the rebbe connected with pesach, which was followed by Eli Lipskier and his choir singing chassidishe niggunim.

One of the older Melmadim noticed how the entire ballroom was packed, saying when Oholei Torah moved into the Jewish Center building, they never imagined, that they would fill the building, and now, even after all the new buildings and renovations, seeing ka”h the packed Ballroom, they see how right the move was, and how great the need is for even more space.

  • Does Lubavitch have a Right to Exist ?

    In contrast to Butmans Siyum, the Oholey Torah siyum was a real great siyum.

    The Siyum Horambam of Tuesday night was a shame where all the YOLI’s come to pay tribute to the Lubavitcher Rebbe and nothing much to say otherwise.

    Do we Lubavitchers need to be AFFIRMED by non-lubavitchers? Is that the biggest Kovod a Lubavitcher can get when a non Lubavitcher says the rebbe was a great person?

    Do we really so desperately need him to say that to US and otherwise we are not so sure? and only a YOLY can make a Lubavitcher feel better about himself?

    Do we Lubavitchers have such an inferiority complex that only a non-lubavitcher can make us feel better about ourselves?

    I was turned off by the way management runs the entire Siyum Horambam, as though they so desperately need the YOYLI approval that “Lubavitch Has A Right To Exist”.

    It seems as though management has an inferiority complex, that we Lubavitchers need to be affirmed by the people belonging to Chassidey Chagas and this is such a big kovod for us, that nothing else matters.

    Does Lubavitch not have any Lomdim, that we can put up at the head table and by the podium? Why only outsiders?

    In Israel they will give away everything just to be “zoche” that non-Jew will affirm that Israel has a “right to exist” because without a goy saying so they don’t have the Geon Yaakov and need the assurance from outsiders.

    Are we in lubvaitch so arupgefalen by zich that we so desperately seek the approval of an outsider and we are so happy that a non lubavitcher comes to the conclusion that the Rebbe was such a great person for telling us to learn Rambam and only then do we feel good about ourselves that “we have a right to exist” so to speak?

    Where is the geon Yaakov of lubavitch?

    Can you imagine a the Gerer Chassidim making an event and they will have ONLY Chabad speakers, instead of their own Gerer leaders?

    Can you imagine the Aguda making a convention and have only Lubavitchers, to be seated at the head table?
