Thank You Nechamas Closet for having Mr. Rick speak. He was superb!!!!!!!!! His positive approach on teaching, raising children and speaking to your spouse was enlightning.
Yes Indeed, first we should give them self esteem and then critise their behavior. This does not come natural, parents and mechanchim have to be taught how to do it. I feel Rick gave excellent examples as a jump start.
As a mother and teacher I have been succsessful in Yemin Mekareves and Smoul Doche. But I’ve watched others who really had to hear it from a professional to understand the negetive implications the power strugle and constand berating has on our holy neshomolach.
a shlucha from out of town
was this taped?
would love to see
I don-t know Nechama-s closet
but from the mere fact that someone felt they have to put out a letter against you, tells me that you are doing something good.
I hope this message gets to the organizers of the event.
Be strong, don’t be intimidated by the ridiculous and senseless comments of someone who seems jealous of the great work you must be doing!
May G-d All-mighty repay you all in abundance for your selflessness to the organization and to our community.
and Thank you.

brainstorming
just wondering how often a nonjewish person has come into the area in the last 10 years to give a professional presentation to a volunteer group. is this a common occurrence? if so, then what’s the problem? if not, could this be the problem? also, i would like to see comments from any people who might have been initially closed to the said person or topic. what are their thoughts now, if they have heard or thought about the presentation? in addition, why not open the topic up for discussion in a chabad setting? wouldn’t most people be open to the topic in that circumstance? wouldn’t those in leadership positions think that quality of teaching and dynamics of learning are extremely important topics to communicate about? they must be aware of negatives as well as positives going on in chabad schools. i’m sure noone would be proud of the negatives, since they have to do with harming children in a variety of ways. and, mazel tov to the positives! therein is a typical approach embedded in a sensitive teacher….praise or find a way to help the child access a positive; take a look at the negative, and deal with it in an appropriate way. let the conversation begin…
