ULY Mesivta Enjoys Shabbaton
Fifty bochurim from Chovevei Torah ULY Mesivta enjoyed a beautiful Shabbaton at Lubavitch on the Palisades in New Jersey. It was a Shabbos full of learning and farbrenging with their mashpi’im and magidei shiur, including Rabbi Minsky, Rabbi Simpson, Rabbi Shur, and Rabbi Greenwald.
Also joining the bochurim were the yeshiva’s shluchim, Arahon Chazan, Mendel Chazan, Yitzy Smith and Yossi Cunin.
“It was very uplifting for the community and gave them a feeling of true infinite Torah Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit,” said the Shliach, Rabbi Moredechai Shain.
One of the Baalei Batim said, “We haven’t had such an inspiring Shabbos in many years.”
Throughout the Shabbos, there were many shiurim, nigunim, and farbrengens with the participation of community.
Before Kabbolas Shabbos, there was a maamer and niggunim. Then, Rabbi Shain farbrenged from after the meal until very late, when the lights finally went out. The next morning, the bochurim were up early to learn Chassidus at 7:30am in order to join the davening at 9:30. Following davening, the Shabbos meal and farbrengen lasted until maariv and havdalah. During the uplifting farbrengen, Mashpiim and members of the community spoke and inspired each other.
After Shabbos, the festivities continued with music and dancing to increase in Simcha during Adar, as the Rebbe requested. A yeshiva band played the music while other bochurim entertained with fire juggling and other acts.
The Yeshiva thanks the community and Rabbi Mordechai Shain for hosting them for the memorable Shabbos.
