An appreciation Homework Helper meeting took place Thursday night at the Shluchim Lounge at The Shluchim Center. It was for the Beth Rivkah Students who volunteer throughout the year assisting the Lilian and Meyer Nigri Online School for Boys and the Shluchim Online School for Girls students with their homework.

Homework Helpers are Appreciated

An appreciation Homework Helper meeting took place Thursday night at the Shluchim Lounge at The Shluchim Center. It was for the Beth Rivkah Students who volunteer throughout the year assisting the Lilian and Meyer Nigri Online School for Boys and the Shluchim Online School for Girls students with their homework.

The girls volunteer an hour or more a week to help students with their homework. There are 36 students being helped through this program. This gathering was a wonderful opportunity to thank the Homework Helpers for their efforts and time that they dedicate to helping Online School students, as well as an eye-opener to them on how the Online School works.

The program included a virtual reunion of the Online School students and their buddies, “How well do you know your buddy?” other virtual games, a chance to speak to their buddy via Elluminate’s classroom, as well as many thanks to the homework helpers.

A parent of the online school proudly proclaimed, “My son loves learning with ‘Morah Mushky’! When the phone rings his face literally lights up! It makes him feel very special that someone calls him on the phone several times a week, to speak just to him. ‘Morah Mushky’ always is very positive and gives him a lot of positive reinforcement. Thank you Morah Mushky for giving my son such an enjoyable Chumash Chazzarah experience. He treasures his learning time with you so much!”

“Thank you Shaina for volunteering your time to help Yossi read the Parasha Sicha every week. He proudly reads it at the Shabbos table every week”, said another grateful parent.

A delicious salad bar was served and Mrs. Rivky Turner treated the girls with a fabulous chocolate moldings workshop. The girls all departed with their chocolate lollies, candies, a homework helper’s blanket, and a feeling of success for all their hard work.

The Shluchim Online School thanks the volunteers of 10th grade Beis Rivka who did a fabulous job so far and hopefully this event will inspire them to enhance the rest of the year.

    WOULDN’T IT BE NICE IF OUR OWN KIDS IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD CAN ALSO HAVE HOMEWORK HELPERS. IT WILL TRULY HELP OUR OWN AND FOR THOSE WHO CAN NOT OFFORD TUTORS OFTEN, THIS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP.

    To anyone who has ever complained about the young people of today:Here is your answer- they spend time learning with others,in spite of all the demands in their daily lives, whether it be homework, tests or production, class gatherings and Achos Hatmimim.
    No doubt, these Bais Rivkah girls will be in the frontlines when we greet Moshiach
