There will always be people like you out there who will see a fantastic community event and just nitpick at it and somehow find something negative.
I was there. It was a beautiful event. Completely tznius and approporiate. There were no women mingling or hosting, just a few married women sitting behind a table at all times selling tickets and doing admission.
Well done ULY on a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable evening. I look forward to next years event IY”H.

HI ZEIDY MARMULSZTEYN….WE LOVE U!!!

I’m sorry to contracdict you but # 4 & 9 definitely are right !
By the KSCK they have men taking care of the men’s hours .
Women should not be there greeting the men and taking their money . It’s just not Tznius !
Please look for men volenteers for next time .
Thank you & Hatzlacha !
To No. 11. Keep -em coming 4 & 9
It is not nit-picking to ensure tznius at events. No other frum and particularly chassidishe kehilla would have organised it in such a way! Oh, but Lubavitch aren’t chassidish or frum…I forgot! And those fanatic Lubavitchers who still are… well, you’re a minority aren’t you and ignorant, so just keep quiet?!

Beautiful night out for the men. It was a great turnout, lots of enthusiasm and support from the community. Thank you to all our volunteers (men/boys and women); their patience and knowledge of the event made everything go smoothly.
As always, Mrs. Feldman outdid herself.
Ladies, come out tonight to see for yourselves!!!
Good Luck.

4&9 are 100 correct. A beautiful event and worthy cause could think out all the details so that it shouldn’t be 99% tzniusdik and chassidish but 100%. So take the positive criticism with a smile, and try to remember it next year. I am sure that plenty of men think the same!

To answer the questions of having men help with tickets and assisting people entering vs woman there – yes it is very hard to find men willing to volunteer their time. So much easier to send there wives. It”s an ongoing issue. Please help us by leaving your names next time and we will gladly call upon you to help us next year.
musical performance
I hope they can put video on the musical performances tonight for the men to see, Thank you, ch.info

just because it was a beautiful event, does not mean Halacha goes out the window,(tznius )
to number 11
to number 11: obviously there is supposed to be a separation between men and woman, and not just by weddings etc, and ppl like you bring down the tznius level. why should a man who is careful need to come and speak to women if its possible to have men do the same thing, i mean cmon its a boys school, the Rebbe’s moised, there were no boys, or teachers who could do it. Do you really not see anything wrong with it? no offense, if u don’t see something wrong with this, you have a problem. And yes, I’m sure the event was tznius in other matters, beautiful etc etc… but we need to try harder in community events.
to #11
It is a sad time, when these days, if anyone points out something inappropriate, they are considered to be nitpicking and looking for the negative.
Yes, it may have been a beautiful program.
No, it was NOT appropriate to have women man the tables at a men’s event in Crown Heights.
We bs”d have a Torah and a Rebbe to guide us in what is appropriate behavior. It doesn’t go according to everyone’s personal feelings and beliefs.
There are many capable men who could have and should have done the job instead.
I highly doubt anyone had any inappropriate intentions when it was decided to place women at the tables, nonetheless it is not tznius and will hopefully not happen again.
u said it
to #11 could not have said it better myself. GO ULY!
To #4 & 9
those woman are the ones running the whole auction
To #11
veryy good!!!!!!!!

You could not have said it better!
Confused
When a yid in CH does a hiddur mitzvah, it prevents a yid in Paris from inter-marrying.
When a mossad in CH is lax in a “gray area” of tznius, it DIRECTLY effects a yid in the neighbourhood to be lax in tznius.
Tnius IS a “problem” in our community. Who else but our mossdos should be mihader in this sore area?
I am sure there were no cut corners on the standards of kashrus of the food. So why cut corners in other areas?
Yes it may be true that it is hard to get male volunteers. But if it would be hard to get food with a 100% reliable hechsher, would ANYONE dream of compromizing and using questionable food or food that is not with a mihudar hechsher?!
The same chumras and hidurim applied to standards of kashrus, shabbos etc., MUST be applied to ALL mitzvos, ESPECIALLY tznius!
This is a sensitive issue to many. Indeed, we have become DE-sensitized by the matzov on the our streets.
You-re ALL RIGHT and you-re ALL WRONG!!
#4 & #9 you are absolutely correct, there should have only been men volunteers.
Question: were you willing to volunteer?? i know lots of effort was put into this in the days weeks leading up to this auction – but unfortunately they could not come up with enough men volunteers to sell the tickets.
Where i think you went wrong is by letting out your hot air on this blog, why not call the yeshiva and work this out directly with them and assure that this will not happen again in the future.
#11 you are correct, it was a great auction, don’t get me wrong, but it was not proper to have women selling the tickets at the tables, even though all other volunteers were men.
to # 19
you’re still not right
to # 28
They did it LAST YEAR and yet they did it AGAIN THIS YEAR. And they even had a GIRL sitting there. what is the excuse for that. please let’s be honest We teach our children YOGAITY UMOZOSY TAIMIN. Instead of giving out l’chaim they should have done the tickets instead no excuse. They had all year to work it out. SORRY SORRY SORRY!!!

So, if most agree that it was a mistake to have women attend the ticket table, why are the pictures still here on the web?
