First Mishmor of the Year!

For the second consecutive year, students of 6th, 7th and 8th grades at Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown Street have been paired up with zal bochrim for Mishmor. The pairs learn a sicha together every Thursday night, followed by an exciting night activity.

In its first week, close to 80 students participated, each learning one on one with a zal bochur, an opportunity a child does not get on any given day. This year’s program has expanded and Mishmor is taking place both at Oholei Torah’s and at Lubavitcher Yeshiva’s Bais Medrash.

Mishmor, the brain child of the tmimim Zevy Gutleizer and Chida Lavitansky, is now organized by the bochurim of Oholei Torah and Lubavitcher Yeshiva respectively, yet the commitment of each and every bochur to the future of our community is what makes it the success that it is; giving up their supper break each and every Thursday night to learn with these younger students.

    just goes to show how much you know what really went on(not to take any credit away from chida) hatomin zevi g. was/is the driving force of this program and passionately worries about it

    i do know all about it and without chida last year there would be no mishmar!!!ive seen it happen when chida wasnt ther it was a flop and zevy always bugged him to stay!!!!!!!!!!!
