Photo Gallery: Crown Heights Buried in Snow!

Overnight, a rare weather system crossed over Crown Heights dumping over a foot of snow, covering everything. Schools were forced to cancel studies, including public schools, kids played in the snow, store owners and home owners cleaned their sidewalks, and the mailmen couldn’t use their wagons!

    but why?

    Was it because it’s important to learn? or because parents had nothing to do with their kids? both? none?

    Is there no value in having a day off at home to have a nice family brunch? the girls are home anyway… so why not?

    I say NOT!

    Children can learn that life doesn’t stop with a foot of snow! Let’s not wimp-efy our kids. let them know that we think they are capable of trekking through snow to go to school, that they are capable of weathering a snow day, and continue with a normal schedule. Fine, have a snowball fight, build a snowman together as a family, but in addition to a normal day!

    Remember this! Don’t wimp-efy your children. dont make them overly delicate. dont teach them that a foot of snow throws them off course.

    May we weather the final storms of galus and see the white days of geulah NOW!

    EVEN THOUGH I WAS SO GLAD WE DIDNT HAVE SCHOOL, IT IS VERY TRUE THAT WE SHOULD HAVE HAD
    IF I MANAGED TO GO INTO THE CAR AND GO SHOPPING AND IF KIDS COULD PLAY IN THE SNOW THEN THEY CAN GET TO SCHOOL TOO
    IT WSA FREEEEEEEEEEEEZING COLD SO IM GLAD WE DIDT HAVE BUT IM SURE IT WAS POSSIBLE
