  • Chassidim uplift the world

    One of the dignataries said he was feeling so bad about everything but after this event he had hope back and was uplifted. Baruch Hashem, the Rebbe taught chassidim to somehow see the positive, to be direct, to have positive energy and to be b’simcha – even in difficulty and of course, we have the Rebbe’s message about the geulah to be our guiding motto.

    And the whole world is truly uplifted and directed – not only by what we may have to tell them, but by the middos of the Rebbe, which we all carry within us.

  • Just for the record

    As a note to those who might not know the famous poem “The New Colossus” on the front of the statue was written by Emma Lazerus a proud Amecican born Jewish woman.

    The New Colossus

    Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

    Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

    A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

    Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

    Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

    Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

    The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

    “Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she

    With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,

    Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

    The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

    Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

    I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
